She whispers my name... Only I can hear

It's In The Breeze

The wind sings
Speaking to what is
Speaking of cold far away
Of rain to come
Of the burning desert
Of the oceans deep...

She knows

The wind touches
All places
All things

The wind
Hears all sorrows
Feels all transgressions
Understands no excuses

She knows

We keep no secrets
From the wind

What we give to her
She gives back
Without judgment
Without stopping
For anyone

Through darkness
The intimate places
Of our thoughts
The aftermath
Of our deeds

She knows

With her song

All we need do
Is listen…

As I listen
I am reminded
Of an old song
Wedged somewhere
Between my memory
My conscience
And my heart

Nature’s Way

It's nature's way of telling you
Something's wrong
It's nature's way of telling you
Hear the song

It's nature's way of receiving you
It's nature's way of retrieving you
It's nature's way of telling you

Something's wrong

It's nature's way of telling you
It’s in the breeze
It's nature's way of telling you
Dying trees

It's nature's way of receiving you
It's nature's way of retrieving you
It's nature's way of telling you

Something's wrong

It's nature's way, it's nature's way
It's nature's way, it's nature's way

It's nature's way of receiving you
It's nature's way of retrieving you
It's nature's way of telling you
Something's wrong
Something's wrong

Something's wrong

Apologies for my lack of posts

Life has me preoccupied
As my father fades
And my grandson gains
I travel
The circles
Our lives have made

Time is
And time done
Another trip
Around the Sun
And I now total
Fifty one

oh yes...
this time i came here from a friend's blog and passed through your profile page... i noticed you've turned 51... 51 turns around the sun and how many times around the universe?
May your wisdom and love shine upon the world more each day...
see? your birthday wish is not for you, it's for us...
selfish crow... eh? just i thought and thought and came to this point that a person like you never wants anything for himself but for others... since he is as vast as the world... he is them...

and now i see you are a marvelous son... a caring father and a true friend...
we understand you and read you again and again since your words are like the wind... they're refreshing no matter how repeatedly they blow...

i've read this new poem several times during these past two days and each time a new point surfaced...
first i told myself, hey crow... you say the wind is a musician and touches too? look here Bobbb shows how she hears and feels too ...
then upon more reading... i came to this understanding that she is that absolute collective conscience of this universe... as her mother 'nature'
"What we give to her/ She gives back"

and how beautifully you've pictured all this... if i had any role among the decision-making guys... i would put all your poems in textbooks... they teach morality, philosophy, science, literature... everything...
they do not teach just knowledge but wisdom... what all the educational systems lack...
i have decided to give some of them to my students to read if you don't mind...(next semester starting mid September)

they are really soul-feeding...

Bobbb i loved that song you put at the end of your poem... you always see through all the ideas and make them more worldwide and worthwhile...
the same thing you did with my last post 'Moebius Ladder'
i'll write you later what your poem there did to me...

So beautiful. So few people in the world get "it". And i love the emphasis on "LISTEN". It is really that simple. But, oh, so hard to do.... Once done, then it is a requirement from then after, for it cannot be forgotten.. Kayce

In Chinese medicine, they say that if wind bothers you ... it means you don't have enough chi. That you need more "force" in your life to withstand the many forces *in* life. The concept fits beautifully with you poem ... if we think of wind as being connected to everything and "understanding no excuses".

Your poem makes me want to make time to listen ... usually, I have time for this. Not lately. But I will now ...

happy bday bobb ... and peace to those in your multi-generational family too ...

Thank you all for the Birthday Wishes
I am blessed

My apologies once again for this late response
Life has been hectic
And my reconciliation with Air was a long and difficult struggle

Yes indeed
It was well worth it

This string of posts and your comments have been a real rejuvenation of spirit for me

I hope you felt ruffled and refreshed!

Of course you may use my words
May you and your students prosper
I can only say that I hope your students know
How lucky they are to have you
Such compassion and understanding

Thanks again for your visit
I’m so glad you enjoyed your visit
My heart smiles

Welcome back
I’m not sure if I ‘get it”
But my eyes and ears are definitely open
And I learn as I go
You speak so very true when you say
“Once done, then it is a requirement from then after…”
It can be dangerous
Going down the rabbit hole, yes?

Thank you so much for your kind words
Welcome to Zenspace
I like the way you write too

I’m definitely feeling the Chi
Yes I do feel that the Air / the Wind is the noblest of the Elements
And deserves to be treated with reverence
It is open
And brutally honest
Yet the most yielding
And understanding

I’m glad you will make some time for her
It will be worth it I’m sure
